How to Apply
♦ Step 1 – Browse Our Open Positions » Specific instructions on how to apply to our positions are listed at the bottom of each position description.
♦ Step 2 – Complete your NWSA/AmeriCorps application in one of the following two ways:
♦ Online at the AmeriCorps website - this is our preferred method (see below for details)
To apply using our online AmeriCorps website, please use the following steps:
♦ Go to My AmeriCorps.
♦ Click on "Apply to Serve" at the bottom of the page.
♦ Complete the requested profile information.
♦ Once you have received your account information via email, log into the My AmeriCorps portal and use the navigation pane on the left to complete your application and reference information.
♦ When your application is complete, click "Search Listings".
♦ Type "Northwest Service Academy" into the "Program Name" field (ignore all the other fields).
♦ Click "Search", click on the listing you are interested in.
♦ Click "Apply Now" at the bottom of the page.
♦ If you need assistance with your online AmeriCorps application please feel free to call Cathy Humphrey at 360-750-7500 EXT 229.

♦ Use NWSA/AmeriCorps forms and submit them via email, US mail or fax to the center you are applying to:
AmeriCorps Application- One application can be used for all of our positions.
Certification Form- This document must be mailed to the NWSA office with an original signature.
Reference Form You will need two written references to complete a Member application and three written references to complete a Leader application.
Other things you should know:
- If you are applying for an NWSA Leader position (Individual Placement or Field Team), you will need to submit additional materials in order to be considered for that position. See Leader position descriptions for details.
- Applications are only considered when complete, and it is ultimately the applicant's responsibility to make sure all application materials are received by NWSA. Applicants are also encouraged to be proactive and check in with our recruitment staff as to their application status throughout the application process. Applications are kept on file for one year.
- Returning Member Application (Planning on returning for a second year of service with the same NWSA center? Contact the Recruitment Coordinator at the Center you wish to apply to for an application).
